DONEGAL GENERATIONS is the name of a historical novel I wrote and published in 2013. The novel presents the stories of three men from successive generations of a family who lived in rural County Donegal, Ireland during the 18th and 19th centuries. It is based on the imagined experiences of my own ancestors who eventually emigrated from Donegal to Philadelphia after the Great Famine.

Now…about my website:

It is the purpose of this website/blog to present photos and historical details of the locales in Ireland where the stories in my novel take place. The principal locales are in the Finn Valley of County Donegal, the Derg Valley of County Tyrone, and Derry City (Londonderry) in County Derry. I also plan to cover the Port of Philadelphia, where my family arrived in America, and Kellyville, where they lived for the rest of their lives. I welcome comments of the topics I will discussing in the blog portion of this website, especially if they add to the knowledge of the history and folklore of these fascinating places.

If you have an interest in any of this material, I hope that you will visit this site from time to time and check it out.
